When we think about natural body detox, the first thing that crosses our mind is to have a strict diet and compulsory fasting. However, whether or not these are helpful or not, our body has its detoxification system that is more effective than any of these measures. However, constant exposure to pollutants, antibiotics, and pesticides, in addition to mental and physical stress, can prove to be overwhelming. In such a case, we need to give your detoxification process a little push.

Our body is equipped with organs like kidneys, liver, lungs, skin, and other organs that enable the body to detoxify itself naturally. To flush out toxins out of the body, we need to keep these organs healthy. The liver recognizes acetaldehyde harmful for the body and converts it into a harmless substance called acetate, which is later flushed out of the body. Some studies substantiate that low-to-moderate consumption of alcohol is beneficial for heart health, whereas heavy drinking leads to a plethora of health problems. Excessive drinking results in the fat build-up, inflammation, scarring of the liver. It will eventually result in its damage. When a liver is damaged, it cannot function properly and will fail in filtering toxins out of your body. Thus, abstaining from consuming alcohol is one of the best ways of keeping your liver healthy. Doctors recommend one drink per day for women and two for men.
  2. Get enough sleep: Ensure that you get enough sleep at night because it helps in natural detoxification of the body. Sleep enables your brain to reorganize and refresh itself, as well as flush out toxins that have accumulated throughout the day. Due to sleep deprivation, the body does not get time to perform functions that are essential for detoxification, which leads to the accumulation of toxins. The reason being when we intake too much salt and drink less water, our body releases an antidiuretic hormone that prevents us from urinating. This impacts the process of detoxification. When we consume adequate water, the secretion of the antidiuretic hormone reduces, which enables us to detoxify our body through urination. Therefore, we should try to reduce our consumption of salt so that there is no build-up of excess fluid in our body.
  8. Exercise: Exercising is one of the best ways to facilitate the detoxification of our body. Regular exercise significantly reduces many conditions and diseases such as diabetes, cancer, and also helps in normalizing blood pressure. It also helps in lowering the risk of inflammation. Inflammations are necessary for fighting off infections in our body, too much of infection may lead to the weakening of the immune system. Regular exercise boosts the detoxification system and protects us against many diseases.
